Delightful receptionist (Fiona), very cheerful and helpful - a real asset. Attractive reception area - very modern. Lovely toiletries in the bathroom. Hotel's "No1 Bistro" - delicious food, excellent service, young and friendly staff. Chef provided us with a cooked breakfast half an hour before breakfast generally served - night porter very oblgingly acted as waiter till regular staff started their shift. All in all, excellent service.
Rooms are a little on the small side. Would prefer king-sized quilts on the double beds.
Very attentive staff, nothing seemed to be any trouble for them.
Comfortable stay, great food.
Comfort and good food comes at a price. But you do get what you pay for.
very friendly & helpful receptionist. good, tasty breakfast. nice clean ensuite room. efficient checkout.
Overpriced. Paid £109 for one night B&B for two & room, although well kept, was small.
Old dark interior and small room. Only one chair!
we felt at home - spaceous room - very nice bath with whirlpool bathtub - nice staff
Staff were incedibly courteous, informative and efficient. The integral restaurant provided a varied menu and served food of a good standard reflecting reasonable value for money.
The price charged for a double room for my wife and I was £110:00. This charge was acceptable for the size of room and accompanying facilities. However, the single charge to my father of £87:00 was outrageous. One might have expected, for this price, a hotel with a pool, sauna, gym?? There were none of these, just a single bed in an adequately furnished room. Whilst we can always expect a "single supplement" for a room still has to be serviced after the occupier has left, whether it is two occupants or one, this "supplement was excessive and does no favours for the hotel industy in NE Scotland and no favours for Wick.
Dinner in the bistro.
Overall condition of hotel - needs substantial refurbishment. Booked and paid full price for double room but we were given single size room with small old bed. Intermittent noise from heating pump throughout night. Breakfast was incomplete - no yoghurts, croissants/pastries, fresh fruit, skimmed milk.
The smell of sewage in the lobby and in the room at times but I did note a plumbing van outside next morning so gather there was a problem with the drains Noisy extractor fan that seemd to go on forever!!the decor was a little dated and no glass mats in room
The Bistro restaurant food was vey good as was the breakfast and the service was first class.
Although the rooms have eveything you need they could do with updating.
Friendly and helpful staff Excellent food Excellent accommodation
Everything was first class
Unfortunatley the weather was bitterly cold and we felt the the heater in the room was not adequate - there was no heating in the bathroom so taking a shower was very chilly - there is no double glazing perhaps to do with being a listed building?
Central location. Friendly staff and excellent service. Good food and excellent service.
Room door locks require upgrading to more moderm system.
The room was small and decor/furniture very jaded. In need of a refurbishment for the price they are charging. Salad with meal very tired and wilted. Disappointing.
Staff were attentive and proficient. Hotel close to good transport links Good base for accessing countryside for walks and fresh air Close to Northern Highland Archive for family tree research.
For me, they could lose the giant teddys in the reception area and the 'set' table. Made it a bit too cramped when other people waiting at reception.
